If you're talking about rust from the ocean air, I wouldn't be too concerned. Take it and enjoy it. Wash it when you get home after your trip and you should be good to go.
Have you been to the outer banks? I lived in Ocracoke and Hatteras for 2.5 years. After 2 days of leaving my bikes outside I could see all the steel parts begin to rust. It is the most corrosive environment I have ever lived.
