I think this is a neat idea.

It's a GPS app for iOS / Android that automatically switches to a kid's voice for instructions when you're driving in vicinity of a school / day care / playground etc. Basically anywhere you're likely to have (more) children in traffic. It's developed by one of the largest insurance companies in the Nordic region (If Insurance). The app covers the Nordic countries and contains all known locations. They have a crowdsourcing website, where you can anonymously suggest a place to be added in the system. Contributions are not automatically accepted, they screen the suggestions before adding them to the service.
I'm posting this in A&S because some of us use GPS instructions to ride to new places. Also, some of the kids out there are riding bikes. I know I would appreciate the subtle notification of the increased risk, especially if I were riding or driving through an unfamiliar neighbourhood.
