I could have used the BB on the bike, but it looked kind of heavy and cheap. Fortunately, I got one back in '07 from a local bike co-op and parts recycler, an old Shimano cups-and-spindle type. If you haven't opened your BB shell, you might not know that the shell is partly cut away in the back, thus, a cartridge BB won't fit. I got a pair of Tektro 556's from Aliexpress for $31, about half the domestic price.

I really like the Floridian color scheme on yours, I'm thinking of painting my frame a brighter color eventually. I can't tell from the picture, but if you're still on the steel rims, going to aluminum will at least double your braking performance. If you had an older model, you would have more room on the strut for water bottles and pumps
