I am 180 cm high, 80 cm inseam and I am trying to decide between size 56 or 54. 56 seems like would fit better except for the standover height, I would probably have my crotch toutching the frame.

I currently ride a giant escape n8 size XL, which is a bit big for me but I actually find it confortable, so I guess I prefer bigger bikes.But I do touch the frame when standing over it.

I'm 182cm and ride a 56cm everything. That being said if I was to buy a Renegade I'd get the 54cm, but I like my bikes a tad smaller than bigger. The 54cm is actually more like a 55cm with its 55.1cm effective top tube, and the 56 is more like a 57-58cm with its 57cm ETT. Keep in mind that the renegade has A LOT of steerer. I really think you will like the lower standover of the 54 and with the tall stack you will be able to get your bars high enough.
