The White Industries G30 has a chainline of 45mm, so it seems to suggest that the GRX will be a bit wider.
(Sorry, totally no knowledge on MTB stuff).
Chainline doesn't effect the width of the crankarms. Look for Q-factor as an indicator of more width between the arms. I think the GRX only has about a 5mm wider Q factor than the road cranks, so just 2.5mm more clearance per side.
GRX has a Q-factor of 151mm and the G30 has a Q-factor of 171mm.
