I rode 40 miles yesterday on roads that to most would be unremarkable. They are the roads of my youth outside this small town. Despite having ridden in many beautiful places around the world, nothing will ever top the roads I rode on as a young man. I think the thing that's most endearing is the many occasions when I never thought I'd make it back. Now that I have, I'll never take it for granted.
