I actually went for a walk today and found my spoke.... and it turns out that it *did* break, leaving only two turns worth of threading, so I will have to order one. That or just chuck a round straight-pull in there.

Oh, your straight pulls have a bead at the hub end. I thought they maybe threaded into the hub. That is not unknown. Is there room inside the hub for just a piece of a nipple you could thread onto the spoke in place of a bead?

Have you tried www.thehubstore.com? He has a lot of stuff.
