Edit: I do still think time zones are important, though. I wouldn't want to have to deal with the calamity of a town 2 counties away being on a different time than where I'm at. Sure could make appointment making a nightmare.
Some of us live close enough to a line between zones that we already have that problem. But it'd really be tough if every town was on their own sun time; 9:00 here would be 8:58 a few miles east, and 9:03 a few miles west. Now try to schedule a teleconference with three people 300 miles west and 500 miles east.
Maybe I can deal with time zones.
