Yeah when I ride singletrack, I'll use a bottle if I'm riding with my wife or kids as we will for sure be on more tame track at slower speeds. Rare times i go to some challenging singletrack around me, I have a hydration pack.
...but thats for mountain biking and this is gravel roads.
