My bars used to block the hub, but since I moved to bigger frames, they are consistently behind it.
The more I think about it, the more I think it's not really a useful guide. I mean, I'm finding the hoods AS comfortable as they were before the stem/bar change, and the drops MORE comfortable, so it seems like maybe it's just a superstition, OR based on a time when most bars had a lot longer reach.
