Near Del Dios, try Harmony Grove to/from Elfin Forest. I think its prettier than Del Dios, and without the gale force winds.
harmony grove is nice and a bit more intimate. the eastern end (near escondido) may still be closed. last time i was up there,
i seem to remember the closure sign running until september. there is a fairly simple workaround through the newer, planned
community whether you're headed east to west or vice versa. i would map it out in advance tho, since it involves 3-4 turns.
