I've passed cars at 55mph, that was a thrill though they nearly crashed.
Rollerblades are supposed to offer the same level of workout as running without the stress. They don't look cool but knee, elbow, and wrist guards along with a helmet will keep you safe. Just start off with abec 1 or 3 bearings till you learn good control and then upgrade the bearings to faster.
