Thanks for getting links to the area. That road is plenty wide too. This whole case angers me so much. I hope his family gets some kind of closure or something. I honestly don't even know how I'd react in their position. What an absolute miscarriage of justice. The judge strikes me as a psychopath for reading that line about some people finding the judgment too harsh in front of the victim's family. Who thinks a year of curfew and not driving for 3 years is "too harsh" compared to a father of 3, husband, etc. losing his life at such a young age. Even judge aside, the crown (in Ontario, the crown deals with criminal charges on behalf of victims) was only asking for 6-8 months of jail time. If she had gotten 4 times that, I would still be upset and think that it is too lenient! I don't believe for a second that the victim learned anything from this, and her speech about wishing to be in the victim's place is so superficial and fake, it makes me more upset.
