That standard did not last long and finding parts is not easy but if you already have parts, then you are fine.. I ended up doing the cable stop conversion that the article recommends.

thank you for sharing this, I finally got around to starting to mock up the Voyageur and the problem with the shifter bosses is exactly as you describe. I will likely do the conversion as you have and is noted in the article...
back on the shelf the voyaguer goes, too much riding to do, not enough time
