The problem I have with my Downtube Mini 8 speed Shimano Nexus folder is the handlebar stem didn't allow for rotation of the handlebars, so folding the bike damages the frame and handlebars. The current models (8 and 11 speed Mini) have the upgraded stem, allowing a much better fold. The lack of the magnetic latching of a Dahon/Tern folder is easily solved via a velcro strap. The strap is also much more reliable. Downtube makes solid folding bikes at quite good pricing.
