Enjoyed reading it, because I've got a (I believe) 1992 Diamondback Expert as my one 'modern' bike. It uses a Shimano RSX drivetrain with brifters. About five or six years ago, shortly after closing up the big shop in Montpelier and moving to Ashland, one of my most loyal customers drops it off for me . . . . as a gift. My size, I figured I'd ride it for six months or so, and then sell/trade it off. Obviously, it hasn't gone anywhere, and was probably my most common road bike for my Sunday rides with Poguemahone, until about a month ago when the free hub failed. It's hanging in the barn now, as I look for another set of seven speed wheels to put it back on the road, eventually planning on rebuilding or replacing the rear hub. One hell of a nice riding bike. I won't call it a keeper (it's not special enough), but I have a feeling its going to become one anyway.
