I just remember it. If I forget, it means it isn't super important and/or I have too much to try and remember which is a good indicator that I should sort out what's currently in my possession.

I don't track repairs because I don't think that helps me as a cyclist and it isn't interesting.
I don't track maintenance because I don't manage maintenance based on miles/hours of use, I manage maintenance based on observation thru use.

Nothing I do to my bikes necessitates hints or reminders from previous work. I have older friction shifting, modern shifting canti brakes, rum brakes, hydraulic brakes...but nothing needs hints or reminders.


ETA- modern 11sp front derailleur cable routing and setup is something I have YouTube referenced a couple times now. So I guess I keep my info on YouTube thru other people's bids.
