The entrance road there has been torn up for awhile, part of the upgrades they are doing that are supposed to eventually include new restrooms. I was curious about the status of that, so I just went looking for info. On this page,

ah! the preserve does require lots of maintenance. I did see a bull dozer of some kind & way down at the other end a big pile of white granite blocks
re: riding there, can't say you're missing anything. can't see anything at night
