I’m the same. When I crossed the country with 12 other people, I think people saw us as more self-sufficient. When the tour was over, I rode home from Maine over a period of maybe 3 weeks. I was offered much more “hospitality” during that leg of the journey. One woman at a campground offered me about 1/3 of a pie she had baked in her RV. Another time, two families forced me to come to their site and made me eat hot dogs and drink a couple of beers.
