Really depends on your body composition and how much weight you have to lose. If a person is over 60-70lbs overweight or more, unless you want to take 3 years to get it off , its a guarantee that some muscle mass will be lost in the process. Its why in my case, i think the body composition scans have been very important for my peace of mind in that regard, but in my case, my LBM (lean body mass) was hovering at 200 when i started this process
