I double-checked it on my laptop just now. You need a connection to log in. I also tried opening the app, then the downloaded file while connected, and then turning it off. It needs a continuous connection.
This was one of the reasons I went to Rouvy in the first place (my hope that some form of the above might work).

So did you seriously expect that you could download all the routes and then ride them offline without a subscription? I guess they thought of that scenario.
You could try the free apps like Indie Velo and MyWhoosh, but I suspect they will all need an online server connection to function.
