- The 414(now the only road bike I have(while Bob is here). It’s been and continues to be a big adjustment)) was making a huge drivetrain racket yesterday . UGE. Couldn’t figure it out. How could it get so dirty so quick? This morning, in the stand, I saw that the chain was only riding on the upper pulley wheel of the rd. It’s a Suntour Cyclone first gen open cage number. Fixed that, did a little cable adjustment, a little limit screw adjustment and it’s good to go. While I had it in the stand I tweaked the spokes that needed tweaking to stop brake rub, and replaced the rear skewer. The old one wasn’t holding the wheel centered.
- And while we’re here a tiny rant about closed cage derailleurs. The open cage is such a wonderful invention. And too short lived.
