23224553]That image is from 5th Ave and 79th St in NYC, sometime during my youth. Those pretzels, whose sensory qualities I can imagine vividly after 40 or 50 years, were heated over charcoal or something and were uniquely smokey and satisfying on a freezing winter day, purchased with the last change in your pocket. I never developed a taste for the chestnuts though.
