Made in Italy on your Costco Nutella? That’s false advertising. Nutella in North America is made in Canada using hazelnuts grown right here in Oregon. Any European living in the US will tell you that our Nutella doesn’t taste the same as what they get at home. Italian hazelnuts vs Oregon hazelnuts plus a slightly different formula probably is why this occurs.
Next we can debate if the nut is called a filbert or a hazelnut, but that’s a bit off topic.
