The tire is a backup spare now tube went in the trash. The rim fared pretty well actually, the hole it made is much smaller than a spoke nipple hole so I stuck a piece of gaffers tape over it and called it good. Still rolling fine on my commuter.
I was miffed for sure when it happened, as I was starting a tour with that bike the next week. Well I thought about it, put a layer of electrical tape over the holes in the rim, and I had a fantastic tour on it. It was fine on the tour, and I don't worry about it now.😁
