I agree with you; I wear lots of Columbia PFG fishing shirts (plus some similarly styled off brands as well) and I think they work well. Shorts are whatever I'm wearing...usually some sort of cargo shorts or even golf shorts.

Cycling for me is very much a come-as-you-are type activity. I don't have special clothing, special shoes, special glasses, etc. I often cycle in Keen sandals (because they're wide) and I use large platform pedals for comfort. My water bottle is literally a bottle of water...usually 16.9 oz size and Kirkland brand...sometimes Sam's Choice from Walmart. If I feel sporty that day, my water bottle is a bottle of Gatorade.
