THIS above ... or sticking link.. & possible rear de binding and making chain rub onto next cog. I'll vote chain/rear de related. One link starting to spread... ?

Had one other day.. retired 77 yr old that thinks bike maintenance is for naught. Light clicking.... chain slight rub onto next cog... he fails to bring chain over for regular cleans and length inspects. We live in sand country BTW............ you know that drill.
