Stock pedals usually are indeed a temporary solution, but are you sure the pedal is toast instead of just needing a bit of tightening? Various parts of a new bike may need tightening and/or adjusting after a break-in period.
Tightened everything I could. Anyway, I realized I would like to have hybrid pedals quite early on.
