I live in an apartment, and have to walk down to the center about half a mile, which makes it real easy to just skip a workout some days. Just walk downstairs, no excuses. Nice.
I'm sure there is positives and negatives to having a home workout area. Probably easy to just say "I'll pick it up tomorrow". So far I'm still in the 'very enthusiastic' stage of workouts. I'm sure it'll get more difficult to maintain the same level of enthusiasm in a few months.
