Early Poster mentioned Gabapentin, which works for me. Not well understood, but my peripheral neuropathy is insane. Imagine walking up screaming, thinking your feet are being submerged in boiling oil. Not pleasant at all. I'd flip off covers, turn on lights and stare at healthy feet telling myself it was a dream but, the dream never stopped when I was awake. Gab helps, only the time I can fully disconnect my brain from that sensation is during intense exercise. Hence Triathlons are my idea of fun.
Yeah, I have neuropathy in my feet. At least the burning is never super intense. I'm leery about going back to gabapentin. I had severe drowsy issues for a year. But I'm rapidly reaching a point I need to do something... With my weightloss this past year, my A1C has dropped out of pre-diabetic range for good., I've had this nueropathy for 5 or 6 years and it is getting old. I had been on gabapentin after my back and neck injury 8 years ago. After that year, they switched me to Lyrica, and that caused a 60 pound weight gain in 18 months. Switched back to gabapentin for a few months before stopping it on my own... I've been using a B complex called Metanx for the past year. Pricey, and beginning to think it is no longer enough.
