About running lights. This was not on a bike, I worked on a AF base. Going home about 2 am I got to a light and it wouldn't turn green, so I turned left on red. The guard at the base entrance/exit about 150 yard away stopped me and ticketed me. I had to go to federal court twice, once on the date printed on the ticket to get a court date, then court. Felt pretty ashamed, as the cases before mine were quite serious. I argued my case as not being careless as at 2 am I could see all directions, and there was absolutely no traffic. Judge agreed and reduced the $25 fine to a penny. But I soon found out there was a $25 court fee, so the moral victory cost me a penny.

Moral: Don't run red lights on federal property.
