Office requires us to work from home as of today. I was enjoying the commute by car the past few days, but now will go in once a week on my assigned day. As a multimodal commuter by car and bike, it was impossible to justify spending 45 minutes to an hour each way on the bike portion when I could drive the same route by car on traffic-free roads in 15 minutes. Usually the bike ride portion is only 15-20 minutes longer vs. driving in traffic, and of course is far more enjoyable. When driving is only 15 minutes and riding takes a half hour or 45 minutes longer each way, I’ll take the opportunity to ride after work on the C&O Towpath for an hour instead of the usual commute route.
