Don't forget that you'll need a different bottom bracket to get the chain line correct. A 103mm. I think the Essex comes with a 110mm. And it isnt a smooth one either. I used one of these. Amazon.com: Sunlite Square - Comp Cartridge Bottom Bracket - 68mm, ENG, Square Taper, 103mm, Steel: Sports & Outdoors Remarkably solid and buttery smooth, and freakishly inexpensive for the quality. You'll also end up with just about the narrowest possible Q factor too. Triple win. Post pics when done.
