About 13 years ago on a flat road with my rigid MTB with V brakes. I was going about 20 MPH when 2 big dogs ran out of the woods onto the road right in front of me. I reflexively hit the brakes hard. The front wheel stopped, but the rest of the bike and I didn't. 2 badly bruised hands, 2 fractured wrists, one fractured kneecap and one shattered elbow. The bike was pretty messed up too. The dogs were fine.
