In the 1990s I had some boarders in my house that were fresh college grads that were from Houma. Those guys were serious party animals that would go back home once a year for the local Mardis Gras. They were on a krew of some sort, it blew me away how much money they had to come up with to put a float in the parade and buy "grosses" of beads.
There's one thing for sure we got plenty of in Southeast Texas, and that is a ton of LSU graduates, new or old.
SW LA has great food. I've been to Opelousas.
Pineville LA? There's good bike riding in the Kisatchie National Forest. I lived in Alexandria for a while.
Some of my favorite bike riding is in the Feliciana Parishes north of Baton Rouge.
