Definitely sidewalk it on Carson Street, it's one of the few streets in the city I'm actually terrified to ride on.
The only times I've ridden on Carson was during the Icicle Bicycle New Day's rides that the Western PA Wheelmen sponsor every year. In fact, the portion on Carson is the reason I stopped doing that ride. Even on New Year's Day morning, with a large group of riders, I didn't feel comfortable on that street.
