I have been trying to squeeze in a longer ride by asking my wife to let me meet her/her family on their excursions. Yeah, she's made it clear that that's not gonna fly - she doesn't feel comfortable navigating around here and she really doesn't want to ride with them (and have our kids' safety rely on their driving). Bummer.
The good news is that it's roughly 60 miles from my place to Flemington, NJ, which is a perfect distance. The not-so-good news is that the routes will take me through relatively congested areas and a solo ride there has a little more risk than I like. Sad!
