I got some cheap Schwinn "froggy" style lights from walmart. They come in white & red and wrap around handlebars/forks/seat stays - and I'm pleasantly surprised how well they've worked.
Bright as ****, and mine have lasted over a year with getting rained on and dinged up. I've given out a few to friends and family that ride and they've worked great.
They have 3 modes too (solid, blinking, and then a strobe type)
