This is a great thread - LeMonds are it for me. Especially their 853 frames which are renowned for their smooth ride. Then there’s their full titanium frames, which are underrated to the point of almost being forgotten.
Here’s one of my LeMonds - an 01 Zurich. I just did a budget build with some 9 speed 105 I had laying around. Nothing fancy yet it’s easily the best riding bike I ever had...
