I used to get tights and shorts with thicker, cushier padding. A number of years ago I some Gore shorts, and then tights, that had a thinner, less loft padding for the liner. I quickly realized that they worked a lot better than the thicker pads. Not as much shifting of the pad while riding and a whole lot less rash and saddle sores. I still use Gore and have also added some Pearl Izumi and Louis Garneau. They all have the lesser is better, for me, type liner. I like bibs but they can be a pain in the back end for adjusting the jewels and emptying the bladder.
