My friend is learning on brifters now. And he rode one of my bikes with downtube shifters and said "i can't shift, I stop pedaling, shift, and nothing happens"

Now that I have two bikes with DT's (Prelude and Circuit), that i ride constantly, I actually prefer the friction to indexed, can't stand that clicking, plus much better shifting when climbing ( i still try to plan ahead, but sometimes get stuck shifting on a hill), I just love the ride of the vintage steel tube bikes, glad i started looking at C&V forum awhile back...i'm hooked!!
