Thought about this. Or even sanding the whole thing down, then using gun bluing to dye it, then polish maybe?

But at that point, I started thinking about the hours of work I'd put into it and decided there must be an out-of-the-box solution to this issue. Certainly, Cinelli must've made black french-sized quill stems?
