There isn't real winter in the south. I'm sure in Michigan that the stray animal population is fairly close to zero when winter is over.
Also, gravel riders seem to care far more about stray animals, rednecks and shooting sports than the next big thing, haha.
I think Biathlons, done on gravel bikes instead of skis, might be fun. Could be done year-round in the South.
