Received a new IceBreaker merino wool base layer from Amazon. I had hoped that it would be a less expensive alternative to the Rapha bases, but man, does the fit suck. Arms are fine, but it's really long (even for someone with a long-ish torso, like me) and it's not tailored around the armpits at all, so it ends up looking like some sugar glider skin flaps when you raise your arms. How is this supposed to fit under other layers?
I guess it might work fine casually, but not with anything athletic/slim fitting. Will have to return it. Bummer.
When I bought mine from Amazon last year, I read all those reviews which said the fit was horrible. I went ahead and ordered my normal size--XL--and it fits well. I wore it daily during my Spring tour, always under a loose fitting jersey and frequently a rain jacket too. I likely had a base layer under it too. I have nothing but good things to say about it. It is Amazon's own brand. Vneck, I believe. Oh, I see you bought a base layer; I just bought a sweater.
