I am 78 and just before covid arrived I tore a tendon in my left shoulder lifting. Wasn't even using a whole lot of weight. The arm doc said it happens all the time. More light work was recommended. Since then I bought a good set of bands and do a routine pretty similar to what I did at the gym, but no weights. I save a gym membership and can listen to NPR while I am working out.
No waiting for the machine to free up.
