I had an umbilical one done about 11years ago. A student surgeon did it; I couldn't resist the smile on her face. No problems since, but I go easy on the lifting. I also had a LH side hernia which I think, had mesh fitted in the old fashioned way, ie, a 4 inch cut. No problems either, and no scar. On this side of the pond, no bills either.
