Safe for metal?!? Sure, why not. Anything is better than actual bike chain lube, right? You are in the right forum.
So we have "intimate" lube instead of chain oil,
Dirt instead of hand cleaner,
Chain oil instead of bearing grease,
Detergent instead of solvent...
