Given the OD of 10mm, the nut will not fit in the recess (OD 8mm) and is no better than a M6 washer. With an M6 washer, don't have to worry about the thread.

It depends if your brake bridge and fork crown have flat or counterbored brake mounting holes - if they are counterbored then the Presta nut could sit inside that and centre the brake bolt, you'd just need to open it up to 6 mm. If they're flat i.e. the top of the recessed nut protrudes when fitted, then the Presta nut wont do anything useful.
