shelgame, I wonder if a different app would have snapped you onto the road. I use ridewithgps, and it shows me riding through buildings, so there seems to be no tendency to do the snapping as you call it.
Other apps do it too. I play Pokemon Go (and I'm not ashamed to admit it) and it does this too all the time.
