I was East Weymouth, We inadvertently ruined the town. What happend was we voted to go from town government to a city government. Sounded like a great idea at the time, there would be more money available for the new police station / fire station (incredible building) new police cars and the ladder truck that didn't fit in the new fire station ( don't get me going on that 1)

What we didn't realize was going to happen was we now had city zoning. well this is what happened. Everyone that could subdivided there property, built a 2nd house then sold them both & got out of Dodge.
Condos and apartment complexes went up where ever the was enough land.
Then the infrastructure failed, There was insignificant water pressure to feed all these new dwellings, the roads couldn't handle to congestion. Getting around during peak hours was imposable. That was 10 years ago, What a mess
